E-Tank and E-Pump specialists set up the system and worked alongside the contractor’s technicians to inform project managers on how to best operate the filtration system.

An environmental contractor was tasked with cleaning up land previously occupied by an iron mill. Part of the project was to remove soil contaminated with PCBs, heavy metals and chemicals which had been used as process catalysts. Any groundwater encountered during the project was subject to the strict effluent criteria mandated by the department of environmental conservation.

The contractor called on E-Tank and E-Pump to configure and supply an onsite storage and filtration system for the contaminated groundwater. Based on experience with similar projects, E-Tank and E-Pump delivered a filtration system designed to remove the specific contaminants and calibrated to meet target discharge levels.

The system consisted of an 18,000-gallon weir tank, a 21,000-gallon Certified Clean frac tank, liquid phase filtration equipment & media, as well as sediment bag filters and particulate cartridge filters. The filtration system’s process was governed by a specially configured flow control manifold designed to give the operator total control of water at any stage in the filtration process. This flow control mechanism prevented contaminated water from reaching the discharge point without first being filtered.

E-Tank and E-Pump specialists set up the system and worked alongside the contractor’s technicians to inform project managers on how to best operate the filtration system.

E-Tank’s commitment to providing safe, efficient and specialized environmental equipment systems provided an effective customized solution.
